Fidelity College and Career Counselling
I am a very lucky student for having David in the process of applying for colleges. Growing up, I always knew that I would study abroad at some point after high school. But the idea was so vague that I didn’t know where to begin. David came in and gave me a head start when I was in eleventh grade. We started by discussing my interests and goals, and the conversations carried on with where I see myself in the future. He took his responsibility very seriously as if I was one of his children. He made sure my choices were respected while giving genuine advice from a different perspective. My English was not perfect when I was in high school. David devoted time to edit and proofread all my college essays. One of my best efforts was my application for Colby College, which is both David’s and my alma mater. Through working together with David on my college applications, he became my inspiration and one of my life models. I wrote about his dedication for helping students as a college counselor and how I hoped to become someone as reliable, resourceful and intelligent as him. That essay must have touched the admission officer’s heart, as I received an offer shortly after submission.
Going to Colby College for bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Music has proven to be one of my best de- cisions. I told David that I wanted to study Economics and pursue a career in Finance, and he suggested Colby would be a good fit for me and for my interests. After completing my degree, I came to discover the expansive alumni net- work that Colby offers. If it had not been David, I would have had a much more difficult and challenging experience applying for colleges. It was a great honor having him as my high school college counselor.
