I worked with Mr. McCauley my junior and senior years at Berkshire School on college admissions, and I could not have asked for a better college counselor. He is really passionate and caring about helping students achieve their goals, and he was always available on demand to discuss a college, a specific application, or anything in general. He was also very communicative with my parents and made sure they knew I was in good hands, which helped put their minds at ease, especially since I was at a boarding school. Overall, we built a very strong and diverse list of colleges, and Mr. McCauley usually had information and tidbits about specific colleges that were hard to find otherwise. He also fostered strong interpersonal relationships with admissions officers, which is a crucial part of the whole process as well.
At the end of it all, I was accepted to Stanford, which had been my top choice ever since I had heard of it. I spent five wonderful years there studying Statistics and Computer Science, and received a B.S. and M.S. It was a great academic and holistic experience that prepared me well for my career in the tech industry, where I now work on machine learning software for self-driving cars.
