Fidelity College and Career Counselling

I am delighted to give you my most enthusiastic recommendation of David McCauley as a leader in the career of college admission advising.   Years ago, I hired David when I was at Creighton in 2008.

DAVID The Global College Admission Advisor

David shows a tremendous amount of ingenuity and shows a high degree of sophistication and organization. He is an innovative strategic thinker who is skilled at building college relationships.  He is articulate, detailed oriented, and highly motivated. His language skills in Spanish and Chinese are also helpful to students and families whose first languages.

David thinks beyond most college advisor professionals. His ability to develop internships for international students in their home country with American companies operating in their home nation is extremely innovative.  He has also become a subject expert used by embassies in multiple countries to speak to students and parents on the American college search process.  He presented for my office at Creighton University at the USA Embassies and consulates in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Panama (IFARHU), Hong Kong, Iceland, Norway & Norwegian Lannekassen, and Peru.

David also distinguished himself in his years in China.  David kept his integrity throughout these years and provided to many of us admission executives, insights on how to ensure we were not facing fraudulent credentials for applicants.  In China, David is a trusted subject expert.

DAVID’S approach to the COLLEGE ADMISSION PROCESS

In his college advising and planning years, David has developed a thoughtful self-assessment system for the student (and parents) to gain an insightful awareness of which colleges to pursue and how best to make application to those institutions. David also has personal relationships with most of the top university deans of admissions.  I joined events organized by David where the deans from Yale and Stanford joined with me as co-presenters. In all, I participated in events organized by David and presented with about nine other admission executives at the other top 20 schools. He is well respected by deans and directors; they support his good work with outstanding high school citizens and students. The students and parents that got to talk with us during these sessions had a deeper connection with the highly selective process than most families have opportunity to do. David put this all together.

David’s knowledge of the selectivity of colleges and their true atmosphere as well as his preparation of his students provides intelligent guidance to students and families that leads to successes at the most selective universities.  The relationships he enjoys with the deans of admissions at some of the most selective schools’ benefits both his students as well as the colleges. College admission advisors like David have built credibility with us and we have often had thoughtful conversations on a student that provided us with a greater insight and appreciation for that student. The direct benefit to the student is that David has been ethical, and while a strong proponent of his applicants, he has kept his credibility with the selective universities and colleges. David has managed his college relationships well to instruct his students and parents more effectively than most college advisors. His students and their parents while relentlessly hopeful (as all parents are) seem to have a realistic and professional approach when they have directly interacted with the college admissions office.

DAVID, ATHLETES, and the NCAA

At Notre Dame, we also worked with David on several recruited athletes. His command of the NCAA compliance rules and issues was impressive and helpful. His expertise with international admissions also continues to serve his students well.  He also introduced us to many students who came from disadvantaged backgrounds and Notre Dame, in competition with other top 15 universities for these students, gained multiple enrollments. David is certainly skilled in advocating for all of his students.

David is an exceptionally hard-working individual who enjoys the creative challenge to elevate his students’ outcomes in his field of responsibility. This motivation serves the students and the institution well. I know that he is proud of the placements of his students as well as also gaining strong financial aid scholarships and merit support for their families.
